Tupelo Forced to Forfeit Playoff Matchup vs. Warren Central
Cancellations have been the name of the game so far with the 2020 MHSAA Football Playoffs.
Lee County can add another to the list.
The Tupelo Golden Wave have been forced to cancel and concede their first-round playoff matchup against Warren Central due to COVID-19 protocol.
This will end the season for Tupelo, and first-year head coach Ty Hardin will finish with his initial squad at 6-5 overall.
A tweet from Tupelo Schools can be read here.
“Due to an outbreak of COVID-19 cases on the Tupelo football team, the Wave has been forced to forfeit its playoff game against Warren Central. The Wave ends the year under first-year coach Ty Hardin, 6-5. #FloodWarning #TPSD”
