TCPS got a little bit of everything in their Saturday win over host Lewisburg at the Hoops for Hopes event.
A fast start to the game? Check. Buzzer beating three pointer? Check. Getting to clear the bench with a big lead late? Check.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 19-3 first quarter advantage in a contest they would never trail in and played their most complete game of the season as they rolled to a 52-25 victory. The victory moved TCPS back above .500 on the season at 3-2.
TCPS got 13 points in the first from the combination of Savannah Adair and Anna Mae Ramsey as they finished the first frame on top 19-9.
The second saw a steady stream of freshman point guard Jasmine Steinman getting into the paint and finding open teammates or finishing at the rim and was capped off with a buzzer beating three pointer.
With time winding down, Ramsey drove into the lane and dished to Adair who dribbled back to the three point line and drained a three pointer for a 32-18 halftime advantage.
The game would never get closer than the halftime advantage as the Lady Eagles added to their advantage in both the third and fourth quarter.
Steinman led TCPS in scoring with 16 points in an impressive showing. Adair and Ramsey each put up 12 points while Millie Speed added 8.
Tupelo Christian is back on the road Tuesday and again playing up in classification, this time at Ecru against 4A North Pontotoc.
