Lady Wave claim 7th straight win with comeback over Lafayette

The Lady Wave of Tupelo faced a daunting task, staring at a 2nd half deficit to one of the states top ranked teams.

Tupelo used a defensive adjustment and some clutch plays from Che’mya Carouthers down the stretch to ensure their win streak stayed intact.

Carouthers hit a pair of free throws midway through the 4th quarter to give them their first lead of the second half and the Tupelo trapping defense paid dividends in holding the Lady Commodores at bay for a 60-55 victory.

Tupelo moved to 17-1 on the season.

After the Carouthers free throws, Kenzie Sharp nailed a 3 pointer to give the Lady Wave a lead they would not relinquish.

Carouthers won player of the game with 17 points while Makayla Riley added 11.
